About Superior Sista Travels

I didn’t start out as someone who traveled all over the world.

For most of my younger years, traveling meant getting in the car and heading somewhere along the East Coast. Disney trips, beaches, little getaways and whatever adventure we could make happen without getting on a plane. I enjoyed those trips, but I never really thought of myself as a traveler.

Then, in my 20s, I took my first trip by plane.

And I was hooked.

I realized how much I loved being somewhere completely different. Seeing a new city, trying the food, walking around neighborhoods I’d never seen before, learning the history, finding things that weren’t necessarily on the typical tourist checklist. There was just something about discovering a new place that I couldn’t get enough of.

But traveling also taught me something else.

Not everyone travels the way I do.

I’ve learned that one of the hardest parts of traveling can be traveling with people who aren’t really serious about traveling. 😂 Different priorities, different ideas of what makes a good trip, people not being prepared, or simply wanting completely different experiences.

Eventually, I realized I didn’t have to wait for somebody else to be ready to go.

So I started traveling solo.

And I started traveling with my daughter.

Being a single mom hasn’t stopped me from seeing the world. I’ve found ways to take a quick city getaway, board a cruise, get on a plane and travel internationally, and make memories with my daughter along the way.

What started as something I simply enjoyed doing has become one of our favorite ways to spend time together. Traveling has given us experiences, stories, inside jokes, new foods to argue about, and memories that belong to the two of us.

And that’s a big part of what inspired Superior Sista Travels.

I wanted a place where I could share the places I’ve actually experienced, but also talk about the places I’m researching, the ones I’m curious about, the ones that make me want to book a flight, and the ones I think other women might want to know about.

So you won’t find me pretending I’ve personally been everywhere I write about.

Sometimes I’ll be telling you about a place I’ve visited.

Sometimes I’ll be researching a destination and putting together everything I think you should know before you go.

Sometimes it’ll be a travel guide, a cruise experience, a must-try restaurant, a hidden gem, a small city that deserves more attention, or something practical that can make your trip easier.

And because I’m a woman who often travels solo or with my daughter, traveling as a woman matters to me too. Safety, preparation, confidence, affordability, and knowing what you’re actually getting yourself into are all part of the conversation.

But more than anything, I want to encourage you to go somewhere new.

It doesn’t have to be halfway around the world.

It could be a city a few hours away. A weekend road trip. Your first cruise. Your first solo trip. A place you’ve been curious about for years. Or somewhere you’ve never even heard of until you found it here.

There are too many places to see and too many experiences waiting to be had to keep waiting for the perfect travel companion.

So let’s explore. Let’s discover. And let’s find somewhere worth going. ✈️💕
